At A Glance

You will enter knowing the regional museum of Oaxaca where Mixtec and Zapotec archeology and the treasure of tomb No. 7 of Monte Albán are exhibited. In this chapel, there are 24 paintings of saints of different sizes and in the upper room, we can see an oil painting of the Virgin giving a rosary to Santo Domingo, next to it there are images of San Joaquín and Santa Ana, parents of the Virgin. In the pendentives of the dome, there are four busts of the evangelists who lull with their parables the rest of the ashes of the insurgent journalist Carlos María de Bustamante.

In the former convent, the first courtyard or cloister of processions - delimited by perimeter corridors covered by vaults with primitive Gothic ribs - on the walls, there are remains of fresco paintings, paintings of saints from the 17th century. The corridors are covered with vaults with semicircular arches over imposts and capitals of attached columns on the upper floor.
